Betsey Johnson Fashion Show

I was beyond excited when my model friend announced on her facebook that she had extra tickets to the Betsey Johnson Fall Ready-to-Wear 2014 fashion show! I instantly jumped on the opportunity to join her and rub shoulders with the LA fashion crowd. My first thought was, "OMG I can't believe this is happening, I have literally been in love with Betsey since I was 16!" My second thought was, "Ahhhhhh- what on earth should I wear?!!" I obsessed over outfit options every single day leading up to the show.

I borrowed a long black Betsey Johnson dress from my mother-in-law but last minute I decided to wear this fun unicorn shift dress instead. I wanted to wear Betsey Johnson to Betsey's show but ironically I felt like this I'm Haute dress captured Betsey's bold and playful personality more so than the elegant and timeless black dress that I was planning to wear.

I absolutely love my dress to pieces but let's face it, my Christian Louboutin Heels were clearly the star of the show! I even painted my toes to match. Can you say #shoegasm

Double selfie with my friend, Michelle, who scored us the tickets.

I call this woman who is 110% dedicated to sparkling the Bling Queen. I thought that I was the queen of bling but now I don't even feel like I can qualify as a bling princess. I obviously had to snap a pic to share the amazingness with you guys. I mean, some of us sparkle and then some of us sparkle. Haute damn!

Above are some of my favorite looks from the evening. Betsey's designs are always so colorful and full of life. I simply adore her spirit and love to see that come through in every collection she does. Her Fall 2014 collection was no different. On top of her signature animal and floral prints there was an abundance of faux fur, shimmering fabrics and chunky gold chains. The best part of the show, however, was Betsey's famous cartwheel which she one-upped by landing in the splits. My life is complete.

Rainy Day Blues

Rainy days tend to make me feel gloomy and lazy but a cute outfit always seems to brighten my mood and put some pep in my step! Feeling cute is a great motivator to get me out of the house even if it is raining out. So I threw on a simple white sweater with some high-waisted jeans and dolled it up with some fab accessories. I'm on such a blue kick lately. Is it driving you nuts yet?

I think it is obvious why I fell in love with this blue gemstone statement necklace from Majestical Jewelry. First of all, it matches my Celine bag which seems to be a prerequisite lately but on top of that I just thought it was gorgeous! Some statement necklaces can be a bit much but I think this one is bold enough to attract attention yet classy enough to be considered timeless. Jewelry is a great way to tie in a colorful handbag or pair of shoes to your outfit. Matching a necklace to your heels or bag gives a finished and cohesive feel to your overall look. So don't be nervous about buying a new purse or pair of shoes in a bold color, just be sure to buy a few jewelry pieces to match!

These pointy toe pumps with peek-a-boo plastic trim are everything! Literally every time I wear them someone compliments me on them. I wish I would have gotten them in other colors as well but when I ordered them online I had no clue I would love them this much. They look painful but they actually fit well and are more comfortable than most of my high heels. Naturally they are now sold out. Isn't that the way it always works?

What I'm Wearing:

White Sweater- Forever 21
Blue Gem Statement Necklace- Majestical- Available Here
High-Waisted Jeans- Papaya Outlet
Indigo Blue Mini Luggage- Celine
Clear Bubble Umbrella- TJ Maxx

Its Raining French Bulldogs!

You can't even begin to understand how excited I was when I saw that the forecast was calling for rain! Now normally I'm not a fan of the rain or cold weather. I would be more than thrilled to live in summertime weather year round which is almost what it is like living in Southern California. However, I received this beyond adorable French Bulldog umbrella for Christmas and I have been dying to use it since! I did an "OMG this is so cute, OMG I hope it rains" dance when I opened this gift and naturally my dance had the exact opposite effect on the universe. It did not rain the rest of December, all of January or even in February.

Luckily, with the beginning of March came some showers. These rain clouds brought some much needed water to California and I finally got to bust open my orange and blue Frenchie umbrella! I carried it around all weekend with pride while I stayed fashionably dry.

My Frenchie, Lucky, is the reason behind my obsession with all things related to the French Bulldog breed. I'm like one of those super proud parents who owns coffee cups, and T-shirts, and luggage tags, (and umbrellas) with their child's likeness plastered on them! Guilty. What else can I say? His personality is the coolest and I just love him to pieces. I find it funny that the rain doesn't bother him, at all, ever. It could be pouring outside and he still wants to take his time to walk around and smell everything like he would on a typical sunny day. -Excuse me dude, hurry up and do your business. It's cold out and unlike you I don't want to be soaking wet!

I was so happy when I accidentally found a collar for Lucky that matched my umbrella exactly! To my utter shock it was clearanced out for $1 in the bins near the register at Petco! Umm... score! I did end up paying $14.99 for a matching leash though but my lil man has to be stylin'.

This outfit is pretty much a collection of all my current faves. My trench coat by Tart Collections is super comfy and since it is water-resistant it is perfect for rainy days. I love to wear scarves with it because I like the look and it makes me feel extra cozy. My black pants fit like jeggings and I wear them almost weekly. My newest favorite shoes are my black booties that I bought on vacation from the H&M in New Orleans. I love the gold hardware and I can comfortably wear them all day long.
