Red Haute Fringe

I've been quite obsessed with the color red lately. My Red Louis Vuitton Estrella Bag lit this fire and I've been buying red clothing like there's no tomorrow. It is kind of funny because I did the same thing with the color blue when I first got my Celine Mini Luggage bag in indigo blue. Don't worry, I'll be back to normal in a few months... or at least until I purchase a new bag!

The funny thing is that I'm not even carrying my Estrella Bag with this outfit. I instead opted to carry my new Louis Vuitton Pallas wallet like a handheld clutch. This scrumptious cherry red wallet was my anniversary present from my husband this year. It matches my new bag perfectly and was so thoughtful to me because the traditional 3 year wedding anniversary gift is "leather".

These fringe ankle strap heels caught my attention for a few reasons but if we are being totally honest here, I bought them because they are red! I must have purchased five pairs of red heels in the past month! If you don't believe me just wait until you see my future outfit posts littered with red heels.

This outfit to me is trendy yet classy. Fringe has made a major comeback this year and I predict it will be even more popular for the upcoming Fall/Winter. I have already caught myself eyeing a few fringed boots and booties! The other popular trend we see making it's way into this ensemble is the crop top and pencil skirt combo. This trend is very streamlined, sexy and fun. You can see it on just about every celebrity in Hollywood from Kim Kardashian to Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence, Crissy Teigan, Rihanna and more!

Betsey Johnson Fashion Show

I was beyond excited when my model friend announced on her facebook that she had extra tickets to the Betsey Johnson Fall Ready-to-Wear 2014 fashion show! I instantly jumped on the opportunity to join her and rub shoulders with the LA fashion crowd. My first thought was, "OMG I can't believe this is happening, I have literally been in love with Betsey since I was 16!" My second thought was, "Ahhhhhh- what on earth should I wear?!!" I obsessed over outfit options every single day leading up to the show.

I borrowed a long black Betsey Johnson dress from my mother-in-law but last minute I decided to wear this fun unicorn shift dress instead. I wanted to wear Betsey Johnson to Betsey's show but ironically I felt like this I'm Haute dress captured Betsey's bold and playful personality more so than the elegant and timeless black dress that I was planning to wear.

I absolutely love my dress to pieces but let's face it, my Christian Louboutin Heels were clearly the star of the show! I even painted my toes to match. Can you say #shoegasm

Double selfie with my friend, Michelle, who scored us the tickets.

I call this woman who is 110% dedicated to sparkling the Bling Queen. I thought that I was the queen of bling but now I don't even feel like I can qualify as a bling princess. I obviously had to snap a pic to share the amazingness with you guys. I mean, some of us sparkle and then some of us sparkle. Haute damn!

Above are some of my favorite looks from the evening. Betsey's designs are always so colorful and full of life. I simply adore her spirit and love to see that come through in every collection she does. Her Fall 2014 collection was no different. On top of her signature animal and floral prints there was an abundance of faux fur, shimmering fabrics and chunky gold chains. The best part of the show, however, was Betsey's famous cartwheel which she one-upped by landing in the splits. My life is complete.

Monday Chic Outfit of the Day

Happy Monday everyone! Here is my outfit that I wore last Monday in New Orleans. Quite a few strangers complimented me on this look so I am over joyed to share it with you. Isn't that one of the best feelings when a total stranger stops you to say something nice?! I try to remember to do this when I'm out because happiness is contagious. The more happiness you spread the happier you will feel. The weather in New Orleans was absolutely perfect for this maxi skirt and crop top outfit. To add to my wonderful Monday, my twelve dollar leopard print heels were remarkably comfortable.

Chic Blue & Yellow Outfit of the Day

If I had to choose just one style to wear on the daily I'd probably go with "casual chic". I'm a girlie girl at heart but I also totally looove to be comfy, who doesn't?! To me, the main difference between casual and casual chic is the shoe game. My strappy leopard print pumps give this indigo blue and mustard yellow outfit a sexy and sophisticated finish. Switch out these heels for some riding or combat boots and the look is all casual.

I've had this mustard yellow coat for about eight years. I remember buying it from an inexpensive boutique in the mall off of the clearance rack. I wasn't looking for a mustard yellow coat and obviously not very many others were either because this bad boy was only $7. Naturally I couldn't pass it up for that price. I figured that even if I only wore it a few times that it would be worth it. Looking back now, I'm beyond happy with my purchase. I wear this unique coat at least a few times a year and for whatever reason it always makes me smile when I put it on. Maybe because I feel like a super thrifty shopper when I wear it or maybe the yellow is just a contagious shade or cheerful. Either way, I love my little $7 coat that no one wanted!

My indigo blue Celine Mini Luggage Bag has single handedly sparked my latest obsession with all things blue! I find myself only wanting to buy blue clothes, jewelry and shoes. Then I have to slap myself and remember that I will look like a smurf if I only buy blue from here on out. With that in mind, my most recent fashion purchases have been blue or neutral. Hahaha. Baby steps people, I clearly have a problem!

I was really excited when I found these leopard printed heels! First of all, I thought they were super fab and since they were in the sale section I had to peak at the price. Twelve dollars!! I did a double take to make sure I read that correctly and then quickly tried them on the make sure they were at least somewhat comfortable. Double score. They were indeed $12 and they actually fit pretty darn good. I've always thought this kind of odd but some of my cheapest shoes are the most comfortable to wear. I got no shame rockin' a designer handbag and $12 shoes!

Fierce LOVE

Here is my edgy take on a Valentine's Outfit. It is casual sexy with a whole lot of attitude and just a dash of cuteness. Not gonna lie, I felt like a total bad ass in this outfit. The LOVE tank is a conscious nod to Valentine's Day without being cheesy or juvenile. This is the perfect outfit for a Valentine's Date at a bar, concert event or for that anti-Valentine's Day gathering that your girlfriend's are throwing.

Given the muscle shirt cut to my LOVE tank I decided to wear my black lace bralette from Wet Seal. This sexy little detail adds a feminine touch and takes away my fear of a wardrobe malfunction. Plus showing off a lace bralette is a whole lot better than having a standard bra hanging out of your shirt. One of my pet peeves is seeing any part of a normal bra showing. So skip that fashion faux pax and purchase some lace bralettes. You'll get plenty of use out of classic colors like black, white and nude and for some excitement you can buy one or two in your fave bright colors. Nowadays you can find very inexpensive lace bralettes in every shade of the rainbow so there is no excuse for letting your dingy everyday bra hang out. Just saying. Ok, my rant on this pet peeve is over. Carry on.

Pink Dress & Louis Vuitton Accessories

... but first some Le Tote 101

A couple weeks ago I entered a "Dogtober" fashion contest via instagram and was beyond ecstatic and shocked when I won! My prize included a 6 month membership to the new and brilliant Le Tote website and a treat for my puppy. The idea behind LeTote.com is simple yet completely genius. It is one of those ideas that leaves you thinking, "Wow, why didn't I think of that?!"

Le Tote is the Netflix of the fashion world. For $49 a month you can have an unlimited amount of "Le Totes" sent to your doorstep. Each box contains three articles of clothing which can be anything from dresses to jackets to tops, as well as two accessories ranging from scarfs to jewelry. These items have been pre-selected by you and added to "your closet" via their website. This is great because you will only receive items that you choose, its an exciting surprise every time! Naturally, you can only have one box at a time. Once you wear everything in the box you throw it in the pre-paid and self-addressed envelope and drop it in the mail and patiently wait for your next Le Tote box to arrive! If you happen to fall completely in love with any of the items you can purchase them for keeps as well.

Here is my first outfit featuring Le Tote.

I loved the mod vibe to this colorblock shift dress but must admit that the fit was looser than I'm used to. I think that is how the style is meant to be but I felt like I was swimming in it so I tied my Louis Vuttion scarf around my waist for some definition. I had the ends of the scarf tucked in so that it looked like part of the dress but between working and eating lunch and then taking these pictures at the Boba Shop, I completely forgot to re-tuck them. I finished my look off with my favorite watch and my matching Louis Vuitton Heels and purse. Given my pink hair, this is a rather bright ensemble!

So far, my experience with Le Tote has been awesome! I'll keep you all updated with my new boxes and if you have any questions or comments please write them below.

Yellow Moto Jacket & Leopard Print

I guess I'm a bit spoiled by the So Cal weather... I can and do wear maxi dresses year round. My obsession with maxi dresses is deep rooted in their comfort. To me, maxi dresses are as comfy as my favorite pajamas but way more socially acceptable and fashionable. For this beautiful fall day I topped off my leopard print maxi dress with a fun vegan leather moto jacket in bright yellow. The leaves on the trees are just starting to change colors and coincidentally they match my outfit perfectly! (I'm easily amused) My yellow ruffle peep toe booties have been in closet for a few years. I absolutely adore them but they are rather difficult to wear because they are not a common yellow. I have bought several yellow items in hopes that they would match these cute shoes but to no avail. When I recently got my yellow moto jacket I had no grand expectations of these difficult shoes matching. My booties are not really the exact same color as my yellow moto jacket but they are pretty darn close! So I just went for it.

Tips for wearing a Maxi Dress in Fall:

  • Stay away from colors and patterns that scream summertime. Bright florals and beachy prints are better kept for warmer weather. Animal prints, stripes and darker hues are fair game for fall.
  • If the weather is really chilly layer a pair of fleece lined leggings underneath your maxi dress. Make sure you pull them up so that your dress hides the bottom of the leggings. You'll be warm and toasty and no one will be the wiser.
  • Top off your maxi dress with a fall staple like a leather jacket or cropped blazer for added warmth. You can even through on your favorite scarf.
  • These boots were made for walking... boots and maxi dresses are great for fall. Try flat riding boots, combat boots or cowboy boots for a casual feel. To dress up you look reach for a pair of high-heeled booties.
