Urban Mermaid Outfit of the Day

Just a Windy Day in My Blue Chiffon Jumpsuit

I never thought I was the "jumpsuit kind of person". That is, until I layed eyes on this blue beauty! I would often find myself admiring similar one-piece jumpsuits on other girls. I even had several daydreams of wearing something like this. So I decided to jump out of my comfort zone and I landed in this effortlessly chic and extremely comfortable jumpsuit. I think it is safe to say that I can now consider myself as part of the jumpsuit wearing community. YAY!

I chose these matching blue shoes because I didn't want anything to take away from the beauty of this elegant blue chiffon jumpsuit. I have had these heels in my closet for years. I don't wear many blue outfits so they don't get much use. But after wearing them around Hoboken I think I might have to change that.

I absolutely LOVE my Vintage Cartier Sunglasses from 1986! They are a classic aviator shape which never really goes out of style. The best part about these Vintage Cartier Sunglasses is that they are plated in 18k gold and the lenses are heavy duty tinted glass, not that polycarbonate plastic stuff on most glasses today.
Naturally, I have dropped them several times because I am always uncoordinated holding expensive sunglasses or phones. *gasp* Luckily for me, things were made to a higher standard in 1986. My prized Vintage Cartier Sunglasses have even withheld being stepped on without any noticeable damage.

What I'm Wearing:

Cupcakes & Colorblock!

These are a few of my favorite things!
This blog post showcases so many things dear to my heart... Cupcakes, Starbucks, A Colorful Dress & Louis Vuttion!

Let's start with the most important, Baked by Melissa Cupcakes! These have got to be the best darn cupcakes ever made! These bite sized pieces of heaven have changed my life for the better! I have hated cake and cupcakes sine I was a child. My mom would always get me a birthday cake so that I could blow out the candles but afterwards I would sit there in disgust as everyone enjoyed the "yucky" dessert. Ever since trying a Baked by Melissa Mini Cupcake in 2010 I have become a Cupcake Addict.

I must admit, I am a bit of a Starbucks Addict as well. What can I say, the Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher is amazing! That is my go to drink in the summertime. And I love how my drink actually matches my outfit!
My colorblock dress and circle sunglasses are from www.ImHaute.com. My classic white pumps are by Qupid and I have had them at least 4 years. I should probably get a new pair of white pumps but these ones are so comfortable that I can't part with them.
My purse is the Mini Alma by Louis Vuitton from their 2013 Valentine's Collection. The color is called Rose Indien which is a pretty dark moroon-pink color. I like that it came with a long strap so that I can carry it on my shoulder or wear it as a cross-body bag.

All White Outfit of the Day

This outfit is perfect for the final heat waves of summer.

White is one of my favorite colors to wear in spring & summertime. It feels fresh and somewhat angelic. But the best thing about wearing white, it helps keep you cool on particularly hot days.
The sexy back cutout on my white peplum top is big enough to allow you to enjoy the breeze (if there is any), but it is not so open that you feel too exposed. Here is the bra I wear when ever I wear anything backless.
I love wearing my white crochet lace shorts. They are seriously so comfy and look great with most items in my closet. I love this all white outfit because it shows just enough skin to keep you cool and classy. I purchased both the white peplum top and white crochet lace shorts from www.ImHaute.com.

Gold Metal Plated Sandals help keep this look casual chic.

Be sure to throw a tide pen in your purse! Wearing white is like asking for stains to happen, it reminds me of bread always falling butter side down on the floor.

My entire outfit is from www.ImHaute.com

Little Black Dress in New York City

Every time I visit New York I can’t help but fantasize about Carrie Bradshaw’s
impeccable outfit choices on Sex and the City!

This outfit definitely fueled my Carrie Fever even more.

I tend to wear a lot of color because I feel drab in plain black, but this sassy little black dress is far from drab! The flattering A-line cut silhouette would surely look marvelous on Miss Carrie Bradshaw and just about anyone for that matter. Black is well liked for it's slimming properties while the A-line cut is popular for it's universally flattering fit. The strappy details make this LBD feel modern and sexy. I must say, this is currently my favorite little black dress in my closet.

I kept the classic vibe going from head to toe with Black and White Accessories. I got my black and white Chanel cuff from the Spring 2006 Collection. As you can see, trends may come and go but classic black and white pieces will always be in style. Even my black and white polka dot earrings are practically vintage. I paid $1 for them in downtown LA almost 10 years ago and they are still cute and stylish today! My vegan snakeskin envelope clutch is the Serpentine Clutch from ImHaute.com and my fabulous and super comfy single sole wedges are from Nine West.

Alrighty, now where is Mr. Big?!

Vintage Vacation Outfit of the Day

The View of New York City from the Hoboken Pier is nothing short of SPECTACULAR!

"Put A Bow On It" Sun Hat, Foreign Exchange Chiffon Blouse, Vintage vacation Wide Leg Pants, Orange Studded Purse from T.J.Maxx, Orange BCBG Wedges

Traveling is one of my most favorite hobbies. I love seeing new places, trying new cuisines and taking hours to pack because I have to try on EVERY outfit before it makes it's way into my suitcase. I'm not quite sure why I have an obsession with trying everything on before I pack it. Half the time I forget what I wanted to wear with what and I end up improvising anyways. I guess that is the fun of living out of a suitcase.

This outfit packed very well. The wide-leg pants didn't even wrinkle and the hat miraculously kept its shape in my luggage. My trick to successfully packing sun hats is to stuff  folded clothes into the head portion and keep the brim flat with clothing packed below and on top of it. I folded the chiffon blouse from foreign exchange into my I'm Haute Sun Hat along with some pairs of socks and I arrived to New York with a crisp and ready to wear sun hat!

I have heard the wide leg pants that I am wearing called by several different names. The way someone refers to these pants really depends on where they are from. An English lady complimented me on my trousers while a New York native said, "Cool palazzo pants." I have also heard them referred to as Beach Pants, Gaucho Pants, Gauze Pants and even Culottes. Basically, all of these fashion terms refer to pants or shorts that are flowy like a skirt. These vintage inspired pants definitely have a similar look and feel to a chic and comfy maxi skirt. So comfy in fact, I wish I had more in my closet!
