Friday Chic

Sometimes it just feels awesome to throw your hair in a pony tail, slip on a sweatshirt and jet out the door! This "Friday Chic" graphic hoodie is perfect for such occasions. It's super cute and I can see it quickly becoming my Friday uniform for fall 2015.

The jeans and hoodie combo was so laid back that it felt only natural to finish it off with my black and gold backpack from Target and my beloved black lambskin Chanel espadrilles. The hoodie really says it all because this outfit, even though totally casual, is effortlessly chic. In my book it is the perfect friday outfit for fall 2015.

I was so thrilled when I finally found these black Chanel espadrilles in my size! I called just about every store in California and they were all on back order. Then I lucked out on my trip to New York last winter when I found them at Bergdorf Goodman's. There was one pair left in my size and I about jumped for joy! There's nothing quite like Chanel and these Chanel espadrilles makes me smile every time I slip them on.

I also have an unhealthy obsession with ripped jeans. I swear 90% of my jeans look like they've been through the shredder. This particular pair I scored from the Joe's Jeans outlet at the Camarillo Premium Outlets. That outlet mall is quite spectacular! We paid $5 for a coupon book which took an additional $40 off these jeans, on top of the in store discounts that already applied! I love designer jeans but I hate paying full retail... this was a win, win!

Kim Kardashian Pencil Skirt

This grey pencil skirt, the shining star of this outfit, has been on my fashion list for quite some time now. I literally jotted down "Kim Kardashian Pencil Skirt" on my wishlist but was having a hard time coming by it. I kept seeing pictures of Kim running around town in these long, fitted and sexy pencil skirts but I couldn't find them anywhere. Finally, I was at the mall and this ruched pencil skirt was in the window! I popped into that Charlotte Russe store so fast and frantically that the sales associate seemed taken back by my enthusiasm. I bought this perfect little pencil skirt instantly, without even trying it on. I left the mall feeling like I had just accomplished something great and I felt even better when I got home and crossed "Kim Kardashian Pencil Skirt" off of my fashion wishlist. Plus, just as I had imagined, it fit like a glove!

If there is one thing I have taken from Kim Kardashian's style it is that simplicity is elegant and timeless. I have been obsessing over all the form fitting pencil skirts and crop top outfits that Kim wears on a regular basis. This clothing combo looks fabulous on all body types and is the sophisticated type of sexy that is suitable for a wide array of age groups. As I get older I struggle with wanting to look sexy yet age appropriate. Kim Kardashian has mastered this.

Kim Kardashian has also inspired me to wear more solid colors. I feel like I've graduated from youthful or even juvenile prints to classic and chic solids. If you take notice, Kim Kardashian doesn't wear a whole lot of prints these days. She's often seen in monochrome from head to toe. While I love a monochromatic outfit, I also love color which is why I had fun with the red details in this look.

As you may know, the cause for my recent red obsession has stemmed from my beautiful new Louis Vuitton Estrella bag. It was love at first sight when I saw this cherry red beauty in the Louis Vuitton boutique. Since then, I have been collecting red shoes and clothing to match.

Red Haute Fringe

I've been quite obsessed with the color red lately. My Red Louis Vuitton Estrella Bag lit this fire and I've been buying red clothing like there's no tomorrow. It is kind of funny because I did the same thing with the color blue when I first got my Celine Mini Luggage bag in indigo blue. Don't worry, I'll be back to normal in a few months... or at least until I purchase a new bag!

The funny thing is that I'm not even carrying my Estrella Bag with this outfit. I instead opted to carry my new Louis Vuitton Pallas wallet like a handheld clutch. This scrumptious cherry red wallet was my anniversary present from my husband this year. It matches my new bag perfectly and was so thoughtful to me because the traditional 3 year wedding anniversary gift is "leather".

These fringe ankle strap heels caught my attention for a few reasons but if we are being totally honest here, I bought them because they are red! I must have purchased five pairs of red heels in the past month! If you don't believe me just wait until you see my future outfit posts littered with red heels.

This outfit to me is trendy yet classy. Fringe has made a major comeback this year and I predict it will be even more popular for the upcoming Fall/Winter. I have already caught myself eyeing a few fringed boots and booties! The other popular trend we see making it's way into this ensemble is the crop top and pencil skirt combo. This trend is very streamlined, sexy and fun. You can see it on just about every celebrity in Hollywood from Kim Kardashian to Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence, Crissy Teigan, Rihanna and more!

Black and White Striped Pencil Skirt- Qrew

Hello Friday, Hello Tulle!

This post is a perfect time to share with you one of my favorite quotes...

“Always keep a bottle of champagne in the fridge for special occasions. Sometimes, the special occasion is having a bottle of champagne in the fridge!” -Hester Browne

Champagne is the best! I love how it is nearly impossible to be in a bad mood with a glass of champagne (or a bottle) in your hand! It's like a party in every bubble! This tulle midi skirt makes me feel the same way... bubbly and ready for fun!

Leather & Chiffon

Summer is my favorite time of year. I love all the vibrant color everywhere, the care-free vibes and the warm inviting weather. This outfit is the perfect option for a warm summer day. Heck, given all the luxe elements you could even dress this up with high-heels and a clutch for a night out if you wanted to. I decided to keep things casual for my day of running errands around town. If you follow me on instagram then you probably know that my hubby and I just purchased our first home together. (eek!) I couldn't be more excited but I'm also super busy with new projects and a mile long to-do list. I am an avid high-heels lover but given our war zone at the new house I opted for cute and comfy sandals instead. They really play down this look and to me they embody the summer spirit.

Envelope Skirt

My sweet pink mini skirt is called an envelope skirt because of it's unique zig-zag hemline that appears to be folded over like, you guessed it- an envelope! I've seen several "skorts" versions of this style but I was never really a fan of them because they looked like a skirt from the front yet shorts from the back. Admittedly those skorts reminded me of horrible outfits from my childhood which I care not to recreate. I like the clean lines of this envelope mini skirt much more and find it aesthetically pleasing and ridiculously cute!

I wanted to keep this outfit chic so I opted for classic black and white pieces with feminine flare. I scored my over-sized circle sunglasses for a few dollars on sale at Claire's a few weeks ago. They are a bit funky but I feel glamorous wearing them so who cares! They mesh well with my black and white striped blouse that is covered in flirty ruffles and my minimalistic single-sole heels.

To add a bit more glamour to my outfit I wore this gorgeous black Speedy Bandouliere 30 bag which I can't help but drool over. My first designer handbag was the classic brown monogram speedy 30 when I was nineteen. I wore that bag with pride for five years and eventually ended up selling it in very worn condition for more than half of what I originally paid for it. There are people who look at designer bags as a waste of money but I sure as heck don't! Some bags actually hold their value fairly well throughout the years.

Before splurging on a designer handbag you should ask yourself these 6 things:

  1. Can I afford it?
  2. Will I wear this bag very often?
  3. Does it match with things in my current wardrobe?
  4. Is this a classic design that won't soon go out of style?
  5. Can I not live without this?
  6. Does this brand hold good resale value?

If you answered yes to most of  these questions then why not treat yourself to a little designer indulgence!

Also, take this into consideration: if I divide how much my first Louis Vuitton cost by the amount of days I wore it the price of owning that bag cost me less than 32 cents a day! Now if you factor in the money I got back when I sold my used speedy years later I basically paid 15 cents a day for a Louis Vuitton bag. I don't know about you but spending 15 cents a day to carry a designer handbag is totally worth it to me! Obviously this rate will be different for every bag but a good rule of thumb is to figure out how often you would seriously wear the bag and then divide the price by that number. If you can justify spending 'X' amount per time you wear it then by all means buy it.

Neon Orange Pants

I think most people shy away from wearing such loud colors but I find it fun to embrace fashion risks. I've always been drawn to bold styles and unique pieces. When I saw these neon orange pants I instantly felt a connection and although I wasn't quite sure how I would wear them I knew I would find a way. I knew that they would match my Stephen Sprouse Louis Vuitton Speedy and I didn't need to know much more than that. If I fall in love with an odd fashion find and it matches one of my designer hand bags it is pretty much a done deal.

What I'm Wearing

Neon Orange Pants- Several years old
Striped Blouse- Le Tote
Blue Pointy Toe Heels- Similar here
Stephen Sprouse Speedy- Louis Vuitton
Blue Statement Necklace- The Icing
Blue Gem Bracelet- The Icing

I have had these neon orange pants for several years. I don't wear them too often but I love how I feel when I do. They make a bold statement any season and the best part about them is they are insanely comfortable. Comfort has grown more important to me over the years so I always hold on to pieces that make me feel good and feel good on. Since I don't wear these neon orange pants on a regular basis they have really held up nicely. Below you can watch a quick outfit of the day video that I featured these awesome pants in two years ago.

Camo & Booties

I'm rockin' the military look this Monday! Camouflage is one of those prints that goes in and out of style pretty frequently. Without fail as soon as I think, "oh camo isn't in anymore. I should just donate this or toss it", boom- The army trend comes back in full force. Has this kind of thing happened to you as well? It is safe to say that I have learned my lesson. I plan on hanging onto these cute camouflage shorts as long as they continue to fit me. Printed denim is fun, edgy and these army shorts are super comfy given their stretchy material.

I was super excited when I came across these black booties at H&M. I had been searching for a good pair of black ankle boots for almost a year. I thought these ones were perfect until I wore them with a skirt. The thread used to sew these booties together was not really thread at all and it was attacking my ankle! This thick plastic thread cut up my ankles and made it almost impossible to wear without the protection of pants. I tried cutting the ends, this did not help. I tried burning the ends, this did not help either and smelled something awful. Finally I went and got black electrical tape to cover all the sharp spots. I was relieved that I finally found a solution. Now I can wear these awesome little booties without slicing up my ankles and since the electrical tape is black you can't tell that I have tape covering the inside edges of my shoes.
