Fall Layers Outfit of the Day

I know that is has officially been Fall for some time now but to me it starts to feel like Fall when Daylight Savings ends. It's so crazy! We fall back an hour and all of a sudden the weather is cold, the California sunshine is gone and it is time to bring on the layers! Here is my newest fall outfit that features a bunch of cozy layers and a mixture of trendy Fall textures. Fall is all about layers, which gives you plenty of room for playing around with different fabrics. When mixing several different textures it is best to keep your color pallet neutral/muted. Layering several different colors and textures looks fabulous when perfectly executed but is easily over-done. Here I played it safe with classic neutral hues while taking a risk with faux leather leggings, a fringed hobo bag and layered knits.

What I'm Wearing:

Faux Leather Leggings- I'm Haute
Beige Knitted Sweater- Tart Collections
Black Fringed Hobo Bag- I'm Haute
Black Stud Earrings- Chanel

Louboutin Love: Casual Chic

I scored big at Wet Seal over the weekend. They were having their "Take an Additional 60% Off Clearance" Sale which I'm in love with so much. If you have the patience to do some digging you can find stuff at insanely low prices. I got this grey T-shirt with gold studs for $4! Granted, they only had a size XL but at $4 I couldn't pass it up. Plus, oversized T-shirts are so trendy right now and super comfy. I was even more excited about the black belt I practically stole. It has gold letters that spell out love and it was less than $3. I loved it so much I got it in camel as well. (when in doubt buy them both!)

It felt like a good day to break in my loubis a little more. I keep saying I need to take them to be stretched but it has turned into such a mission. The sales associate at Barney's told me that a Christian Louboutin store would stretch them for me there. So I drive all the way down to the store I am told that Christian Louboutin stores do not stretch shoes and I was then referred to a "recommended shoe repair store" over an hour away. Needless to say, my Lady peep 150 Spikes Lame/Strass heels are still too tight for my fat feet. lol
That being said, I am still just as infatuated with these shoes as the day I bought them. Pictures truly don't do them justice and the bearable pain is worth it.

My nails are a bit crazy at the moment. They are silver with 3D jewels, pearls and flowers. My husband hates them but I think they are super kawaii. However, I must admit that they are not very hair friendly. I keep forgetting that and they get snagged if I try to scratch my head or run my fingers through my hair. -oops!

My Fair Lady: Casual Chic OOTD

Every year I look forward to the County Fair. The food, the rides, the games, the lights... it all makes me feel like a kid again. I love the bright and bold colors that are everywhere you look and the mixture of noises and smells that fill the air.

I did my best to put together an outfit that was cute but comfortable and easy to walk around in all day. High-waisted shorts (and swimwear) are my latest fashion obsession! At first, I wasn't sure about this trend. High-waisted shorts reminded me of "mom shorts" but I quickly got over that and this hip 90's trend grew on me even quicker for many reasons.

First of all, high-waisted shorts do wonders for the figure. They emphasize your real waist, the smallest part of your torso, which has long been lost with low-rise everything! Since these shorts hit at your real waist they also help define your curves and give off a more hourglass silhouette. What's even better is that they make the booty look phenomenal. My main issue with high-waisted shorts is that some girls don't wear them correctly, giving this flattering trend an unflattering reputation.

When shopping for high-waisted shorts you really need to focus on the fit. You want them to fit snug, this will make your waist look smaller and lift your backside better. However, you do not want the shorts to be so snug that you can not breathe or even worse that you are spilling out of them. If your shorts do not cover your butt cheeks-they are too short! It's not rocket science, just common sense and decency. Keep in mind that high-waisted shorts do have the tendency to ride up so opt for a bigger size if you're not sure.

I got my high-waisted shorts here and I purchased a medium for peace of mind and comfort.

I hand made the Red Rose Flower Crown and I sell them on my site: ImHaute.com
Flower crowns are my fave hair accessory at the moment. they are so boho chic and perfect for taming locks on windy days. While you might think this is strictly a Spring & Summer accessory I believe you will be seeing flower crowns in rich bold and dark colors carry through Fall & Winter.

Denim on Denim

I'm really loving the denim fashions these days. In the summer my favorite denim piece was my vintage washed denim vest. I had to stop myself from wearing it with every outfit I put on! Now that the weather is colder I find myself searching for warmer denim options to fall in love with.
Meet my new denim fave! This chambray shirt is a great wardrobe staple. I love the relaxed feminine fit and the bronze buttons. It is not big and bulky like many fall shirts are, which makes layering a whole lot easier! I much prefer to layer several smaller pieces than a few heavy ones. I tend to feel too claustrophobic under thick and restrictive layers.
A scarf is my secret weapon in Fall & Winter. Actually, I didn't even start wearing scarves until a couple of years ago. After wearing one a few times I was hooked! You never know when the weather will change or when a restaurant will be pumping the AC like it's stuck on Arctic. That is why I like to keep a scarf in my purse. Plus, scarves are a simple way to add a little bit of character and color to your look.
What I'm Wearing:
Dark Denim Hudson Jeans- Nordstroms
Chambray Shirt- Love Culture
Bronze & Rhinestone Earrings- Forever 21
Spiked Bronze Bracelet, Leopard Print Infinity Scarf & Brown Riding Boots are all from I'm Haute

Boyfriend Blazer OOTD

I Love New York! There is something so magical about a city that never sleeps. New York is so full of life and hands down one of my favorite places to visit!

Fall in New York is gorgeous! The trees are changing color and the weather is usually perfect for walking around town. The air can have a crisp chill but you don't need to completely bundle up like you would in the Winter. I layered a grey blazer over my cozy turquoise sweater. I actually had to shed my light jacket after walking around Central Park for a few minutes. My white pants are corduroy so they were extra warm and comfy.

Speaking of comfort, I slid some gel cushions from Target into my shoes and I highly recommend it! They made walking all day in heels bearable. To be honest, Most people were NOT wearing heels in the park. I'm a bit of a high-heels addict though... so I've stocked up on gel cushion inserts!

What I'm wearing:
Turquoise Sweater- Express
Grey Blazer- AMI
Grey & Black Distressed Booties- AMI
White Corduroys- TJ Maxx
Skull & Spikes Bracelets- I'm Haute
Black Purse with Gold Studs- Foreign Exchange
