Friday Chic

Sometimes it just feels awesome to throw your hair in a pony tail, slip on a sweatshirt and jet out the door! This "Friday Chic" graphic hoodie is perfect for such occasions. It's super cute and I can see it quickly becoming my Friday uniform for fall 2015.

The jeans and hoodie combo was so laid back that it felt only natural to finish it off with my black and gold backpack from Target and my beloved black lambskin Chanel espadrilles. The hoodie really says it all because this outfit, even though totally casual, is effortlessly chic. In my book it is the perfect friday outfit for fall 2015.

I was so thrilled when I finally found these black Chanel espadrilles in my size! I called just about every store in California and they were all on back order. Then I lucked out on my trip to New York last winter when I found them at Bergdorf Goodman's. There was one pair left in my size and I about jumped for joy! There's nothing quite like Chanel and these Chanel espadrilles makes me smile every time I slip them on.

I also have an unhealthy obsession with ripped jeans. I swear 90% of my jeans look like they've been through the shredder. This particular pair I scored from the Joe's Jeans outlet at the Camarillo Premium Outlets. That outlet mall is quite spectacular! We paid $5 for a coupon book which took an additional $40 off these jeans, on top of the in store discounts that already applied! I love designer jeans but I hate paying full retail... this was a win, win!

A Fall Fashion Dream

I feel like I've fallen into a fluffy white cloud dreamland where I'm wearing a sexy, comfy & affordable fall outfit with my four-legged bestie, Lucky the Frenchie. This complete fall look can be found on AmiClubwear.com. I will put direct links at the bottom for you all!

Fall fashion is sometimes lost on Californians because we don't experience "real" seasons. I personally love the "always sunny" weather and could never imagine living anywhere else. I love to visit places with actual seasons, like New York but I appreciate being able to wear a dress in October, thank you very much! If you are somewhere in the world with typically chilly fall weather you can easily adapt this outfit to suit your needs.

This long sleeved dress is made of super soft cotton and is incredibly comfortable. Being that the material is light weight, I added a faux fur vest for additional warmth. If there is one thing I know about Fall Fashion it is: layers, layers, layers! Did I mention layers? Fall mornings and evenings are typically chilly but that midday sun can be a scorcher, which is why being able to shed or add a layer is so key.

The latest Fall Footwear Trend is cut-out boots and tall gladiator style heels that resemble cutout boots. Both styles require a nice pedicure and are bursting with major wow-factor. I've worn these beige beauties out a few times now and I'm glad that everyone else seems to love them as much as I do. I have received compliments from both men and women. What I love most about these gladiator high heels is that they are exceptionally comfortable. Beauty is pain- but not in this case.

The colors in this fall outfit are soft and muted which adds to it's elegance. Solid colors are very much on-trend lately but can sometimes feel bland. To avoid a routine solid color look there is marbling in the grey dress and faux fur vest. This slight color variation adds texture and dimension for a classy and easy-on-the-eyes finish.

What I'm Wearing

Grey Long Sleeve Dress- AmiClubwear
Faux Fur Vest- AmiClubwear
Beige Gladiator Heels- AmiClubwear

The best part about this outfit is that the entire look was just a little bit over $50! Plus each item will pair well with others and add versatility to your closet.

My Latest Fall Fashion Obsession

The monochrome trend has been huge in fashion this year and is still a must have for Fall/Winter 2013. Black and white seem to be the must have colors for the season. Wear them solo for a chic tonal look or combine these classic hues for high-contrast drama with a timeless undertone. For even more drama I like to pair my black and white outfits with red accessories. Black and white ensembles work well with pretty much any colored accessory you could think of. Red is my favorite accent to black and white clothing because it is so vibrant and instantly adds a touch of sexy edge that still feels sophisticated. Below you will find some of my favorites fashion picks for creating a similar black, white and red outfit.

Black and White Leggings

As I'm sure you already know, leggings are a wardrobe staple year-round and especially during fall and winter. I could practically live in leggings when it is cold outside because there is just something about cold weather that makes me want be in my pajamas all day... leggings are the next best option and way more fashionable. When it is extra chilly outside I will layer my leggings for extra warmth. I own a couple pairs of fleece lined leggings and they feel so amazing against my skin in the wintertime. Leggings can also help make your legs appear longer and leaner since they sit so close to the skin... for added effect put away those knee-high boots and reach for ankle-booties instead.

Miss New Bootie

1. Christian Louboutin Daf Bootie,  2. Kristin Cavallari Lavish Bootie,  3. Saint Laurent Bootie,
4. Valentino Rain Boot,  5. Diane Von Furstenberg Zip-Trim Bootie,  6. Shoe Cult Impact Bootie.

Boots are everywhere in the fall and winter months... but red booties... red booties are only for the true fashionistas and fashion risk-takers of this world. You know what they say, "No risk, no reward." So go for it! Red booties are a statement shoe that you wont soon forget or regret. You can wear them with your monochomatic outifts and other neutrals like nudes and leopard print. Yes, leopard print is considered a neutral color these days and happens to be one of my faves! The perfect red bootie will also be your fave come holiday season! Add some festive color to your LBD or dress up jeans and a sweater for family time.

Red Alert: Handbags

Red handbags are eye catching and totally sexy! Carry your stuff in style this season with one of the above bags. These beautiful red handbags are on trend with their luxurious and animal friendly fabrics of faux snakeskin and quilted vegan leather. It is really hard to choose a favorite.

Top it Off!

Quite possibly the easiest option for a statement accessory is a bold red bauble! Red accessories require little commitment and usually offer lower price points than say a pair of shoes or a handbag. If you're a little nervous about trying bright red heels or a vibrant red purse then ease into this brilliant color with a red necklace, single toned clothing (think all white or all black, etc) and matching red nail polish.

Purple Chiffon Blouse and Leopard Print Blazer

and pink hair, oh my!

When I first dyed my hair pink I felt rather limited by my wardrobe. I was afraid that color would clash with my bright pink locks so I stuck with all black outfits for the first few days. That didn't last very long! I love color, hence my colorful hair, so I've recently been experimenting with some different hues. I've found that I like how purples and blues look with my hair... and leopard print is the new black so that's always a safe "color". Haha.

My purple chiffon blouse came in the mail from Le Tote on Tuesday. I've been thinking about what to wear it with since I received it. Just my luck, this beautiful blouse didn't look good with any of the options I was pairing it with in my head and now my bed is totally covered with clean discarded clothes. Tell me you do this too? My white skinny pants had just been washed so they were in a separate "to be hung up" pile on my bed, I slipped them on and then everything else fell into place. I love when that happens! If only it had happened sooner, I'd have less clothes to hang up later tonight... err tomorrow... ok, ok, Saturday! *don't judge me* To save yourself the mess, a good tip to remember when you're trying to make outfits from separates is that opposites attract. For the most part, you want to pair loose bottoms with tight tops and tight bottoms with loose tops.

My Rose Indien Mini Alma Bag doesn't match with much so I was super stoked when I saw the color of this Le Tote chiffon blouse! I swear the lighting in the Louis Vuitton store was deceiving because I remember my purse being more pink than purple. I guess Rose Indien just looks different under various types of lights because sometimes my purse even appears to be a deep red which it most certainly is not. It is a bit of a chameleon purse.

I have literally owned these leopard print heels for seven years! Leopard print never really goes out of style so I've held onto them and wear them at least a handful of times each year. They are a great and edgy alternative for nude heels and pair nicely with so many different outfits.

Yellow Moto Jacket & Leopard Print

I guess I'm a bit spoiled by the So Cal weather... I can and do wear maxi dresses year round. My obsession with maxi dresses is deep rooted in their comfort. To me, maxi dresses are as comfy as my favorite pajamas but way more socially acceptable and fashionable. For this beautiful fall day I topped off my leopard print maxi dress with a fun vegan leather moto jacket in bright yellow. The leaves on the trees are just starting to change colors and coincidentally they match my outfit perfectly! (I'm easily amused) My yellow ruffle peep toe booties have been in closet for a few years. I absolutely adore them but they are rather difficult to wear because they are not a common yellow. I have bought several yellow items in hopes that they would match these cute shoes but to no avail. When I recently got my yellow moto jacket I had no grand expectations of these difficult shoes matching. My booties are not really the exact same color as my yellow moto jacket but they are pretty darn close! So I just went for it.

Tips for wearing a Maxi Dress in Fall:

  • Stay away from colors and patterns that scream summertime. Bright florals and beachy prints are better kept for warmer weather. Animal prints, stripes and darker hues are fair game for fall.
  • If the weather is really chilly layer a pair of fleece lined leggings underneath your maxi dress. Make sure you pull them up so that your dress hides the bottom of the leggings. You'll be warm and toasty and no one will be the wiser.
  • Top off your maxi dress with a fall staple like a leather jacket or cropped blazer for added warmth. You can even through on your favorite scarf.
  • These boots were made for walking... boots and maxi dresses are great for fall. Try flat riding boots, combat boots or cowboy boots for a casual feel. To dress up you look reach for a pair of high-heeled booties.

Fall Layers Outfit of the Day

I know that is has officially been Fall for some time now but to me it starts to feel like Fall when Daylight Savings ends. It's so crazy! We fall back an hour and all of a sudden the weather is cold, the California sunshine is gone and it is time to bring on the layers! Here is my newest fall outfit that features a bunch of cozy layers and a mixture of trendy Fall textures. Fall is all about layers, which gives you plenty of room for playing around with different fabrics. When mixing several different textures it is best to keep your color pallet neutral/muted. Layering several different colors and textures looks fabulous when perfectly executed but is easily over-done. Here I played it safe with classic neutral hues while taking a risk with faux leather leggings, a fringed hobo bag and layered knits.

What I'm Wearing:

Faux Leather Leggings- I'm Haute
Beige Knitted Sweater- Tart Collections
Black Fringed Hobo Bag- I'm Haute
Black Stud Earrings- Chanel
Charcoal Grey Sweater & Booties- My Closet
