Holiday photo shoot for ImHaute.com

I've been dying to do a photo shoot since I dyed my hair pink. The color is semi-permanent so I knew I only had a short window of opportunity. It has already faded dramatically and is on it's way back to blonde. When Kacey from KCD Photography contacting me about a holiday themed shoot complete with a pink Christmas tree I could not refuse! Wardrobe was provided by I'm Haute. I did my own makeup and Hair By Terrah styled my pink hair! The pictures came out very glamorous, festive and sparkly! I'll be posting more from the shoot as I get them. For my latest updates and behind the scenes follow me on instagram. I'm an insta junkie and post daily!

Two Point Oh LA Snow Ball 2013

Over the weekend I attended the 4th annual Snow Ball hosted by Two Point Oh LA where local fashion bloggers gathered for a festive evening together. It was the perfect opportunity to get dressed up and hang out with some friends. I love any excuse to get dressed up!

Servers passed casual snacks like mini cheeseburgers, mini corn dogs and french fries in dixie cups.

The highlight of the 2013 Snow Ball was the Lulu's "Spin to Win" booth. (I called it the "wheel of fashion".) Each guest was allowed to spin the wheel once and win whichever prize they landed on. I won a $10 gift card to LuLu's and my friend, Josie, won a free item. Not gonna lie, I was totes jealie of her super duper cute faux fur jacket she scored! Isn't it fabulous?!

There was also a dessert buffet set up. It offered various sweets in holiday colors and flavors. Also, later in the evening homemade pies were set out. Being the candy addict that I am, we made several trips. I have no shame.

We swayed along to an Elvis impersonator and his band. He was actually quite good and not as cheesy as I would imagine an Elvis impersonator to be. Towards the end of the party Top 40 Dance hits played while we all got a chance to wack a Christmas pinata and win some free goodies. It was very entertaining to see everyone do this in their beautiful dresses and high heels. I felt like a kid again, hoping to get the best candy or in this case, makeup!

What I got: Michael Stars tank top, Secret Deoderant, Make & Model underwear, Kama Sutra feather duster & powder, BCBGeneration necklace, Lift Lab skin firming lotion, Jouer makeup, Neutrogena primer, Ella Moss mirror and brush and a Snow Ball tote bag.

Cozy Kitty Outfit of The Day

Hi everyone... or shall I say Meow!? It has been really chilly lately so I decided to brave the cold with some faux fur and kitty ears. This outfit has the two main characteristics that I look for in a typical Fall/Winter outfit. It is most importantly warm and second it is totally comfortable! I love dressing up but some days, especially cold days, I just want to be casual and cozy.

My overall look is relaxed and rather monochrome but I decided to add a bold pop of color with a bright turquoise handbag which I thought complemented my pink hair well. I got my cat eared beanie headband from Hot Topic over the weekend for $12.99. It is super warm and I thought it would be adorable on the slopes this season! My grey skinny jeans are from Hot Topic as well. You should check out their denim section if you haven't already. I'm always pleasantly surprised by their great selection and even better prices. My black knitted jacket with faux fur collar is from Guess. The collar is removable which adds versatility and makes washing a whole lot easier. Completing my warm winter outfit are my black Mongolian fur Ugg boots. Here kitty, kitty.

My Thanksgiving Outfit

Hey everyone! So I finally got around to posting pics of my outfit of the day from Thanksgiving dinner with some of my family in San Diego. My four day holiday weekend was long and eventful... good eventful though! Not that dysfunctional sort of eventful that is often associated with holidays. I hope you all had a wonderful time with your friends and/or family as well!

I consider myself lucky because I didn't have to put much thought into choosing my Thanksgiving outfit this year. Normally I obsess and stress over finding the perfect outfit for events and special ocassions but this year my outfit was delivered to my door earlier in the week from Le Tote. I describe their subscription service in a previous blog post you can read about here. They sent me the black blazer with vegan leather trim, animal print chiffon dress and black and white earrings which paired beautifully together for a family appropriate yet still fashionable Thanksgiving outfit. I simply added a black skinny belt that came with a skirt I bought a couple years ago to define my waist and completed the look with simple single soled high heels. I also received a peplum blouse and bracelet in my tote that are not pictured.

I didn't wear the black blazer most of the day because the weather outside was gorgeous and the house was warm from all the cooking. Sometimes I will top off an outfit with a blazer or jacket of some sort for family events but this animal print chiffon dress was modest enough and totally adorable on its own! It is completely lined everywhere except the sleeves for a flirty yet still classy peep of skin.

The below pictures are after we all ate dinner and dessert... as you can see I ditched my belt and switched my high-heels out for a black pair of ballerina flats. The story behind my belt-less frock is rather comical. Picture this, there are about twelve of us around the table, we have all finished eating and are going around in a circle saying what we are thankful for when my belt decides that it has had enough turkey, mashed potatoes, corn and bread rolls... POP, there it goes! Yep, somehow my belt gave up when I needed it most but the show must go on and everyone is in a food coma at this point anyways. After a huge Thanksgiving dinner comfort trumps cuteness... so I threw my belt in my purse and said, "bring on the flats!"

My hubby and I enjoying the beautiful sunset.

Skater Skirt & Thigh-High Socks

I can still remember the day I fell in love with thigh-high socks. I was sitting on the living room floor watching Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Ashley Banks entered the scene rocking an adorable 90's outfit featuring a mini skirt and the sexiest socks I'd ever seen. I secretly longed for her outfit but somehow my adolescent mind knew they were not age appropriate for a 9 year old. Luckily for me, 90's fashion is in full swing these days and thigh-high socks are fair game!

I would normally say that most skater skirts and thigh-high socks combos are preppy but my outfit is loaded with attitude! Street chic to the max. The jacket gives a sophisticated and luxe vibe while my spiked out lita booties add some grungy edge. I love how all these elements came together and how my pink hair looked in a top bun. I normally hate my hair up but it worked well with this ensemble.

The jacket has to be my favorite piece in this outfit, well I love my Christian Louboutin bag a whole lot too but my jacket is my newest obsession. The details are just stunning. It has beautiful texture with the all-over quilting effect, vegan leather trim and gun metal zippers. Very chic and totally reminds me of something Chanel would make. Love.

Thanks so much for checking out my fashion blog!
