Red Haute Fringe

I've been quite obsessed with the color red lately. My Red Louis Vuitton Estrella Bag lit this fire and I've been buying red clothing like there's no tomorrow. It is kind of funny because I did the same thing with the color blue when I first got my Celine Mini Luggage bag in indigo blue. Don't worry, I'll be back to normal in a few months... or at least until I purchase a new bag!

The funny thing is that I'm not even carrying my Estrella Bag with this outfit. I instead opted to carry my new Louis Vuitton Pallas wallet like a handheld clutch. This scrumptious cherry red wallet was my anniversary present from my husband this year. It matches my new bag perfectly and was so thoughtful to me because the traditional 3 year wedding anniversary gift is "leather".

These fringe ankle strap heels caught my attention for a few reasons but if we are being totally honest here, I bought them because they are red! I must have purchased five pairs of red heels in the past month! If you don't believe me just wait until you see my future outfit posts littered with red heels.

This outfit to me is trendy yet classy. Fringe has made a major comeback this year and I predict it will be even more popular for the upcoming Fall/Winter. I have already caught myself eyeing a few fringed boots and booties! The other popular trend we see making it's way into this ensemble is the crop top and pencil skirt combo. This trend is very streamlined, sexy and fun. You can see it on just about every celebrity in Hollywood from Kim Kardashian to Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence, Crissy Teigan, Rihanna and more!

Cute and Casual Outfit

For some reason this cute and casual outfit makes me feel all bubbly and happy. It could be that the weather is finally feeling like perfection which makes me want to jump for joy or perhaps it is the comfy flat shoes that are putting some extra pep in my step. Whatever it is, I like it. Some outfits just make you smile as soon as you slip them on. Honestly though, how could I not smile while wearing this adorable panda crop top? Life is too short to take yourself too serious all the time and it is also too short to not indulge in silly things that make you smile. New clothes, fresh juice and sunshine make me smile and seeing someone else (even a stranger) smile makes me smile as well. Life is beautiful and it is easier to see that beauty when you leave the house in a happy mindset. That is one of the reasons why I try to always put together outfits that make me feel good about myself. If you love fashion as much as I do then you know that outfits are a form of self-expression and they are an extension of your personality. Try mixing in some playful and overly happy pieces into your wardrobe and see if it doesn't boost your happiness. It may sound cheesy but since smiling is contagious and those who smile more often are happier it couldn't hurt. :)

Its Raining French Bulldogs!

You can't even begin to understand how excited I was when I saw that the forecast was calling for rain! Now normally I'm not a fan of the rain or cold weather. I would be more than thrilled to live in summertime weather year round which is almost what it is like living in Southern California. However, I received this beyond adorable French Bulldog umbrella for Christmas and I have been dying to use it since! I did an "OMG this is so cute, OMG I hope it rains" dance when I opened this gift and naturally my dance had the exact opposite effect on the universe. It did not rain the rest of December, all of January or even in February.

Luckily, with the beginning of March came some showers. These rain clouds brought some much needed water to California and I finally got to bust open my orange and blue Frenchie umbrella! I carried it around all weekend with pride while I stayed fashionably dry.

My Frenchie, Lucky, is the reason behind my obsession with all things related to the French Bulldog breed. I'm like one of those super proud parents who owns coffee cups, and T-shirts, and luggage tags, (and umbrellas) with their child's likeness plastered on them! Guilty. What else can I say? His personality is the coolest and I just love him to pieces. I find it funny that the rain doesn't bother him, at all, ever. It could be pouring outside and he still wants to take his time to walk around and smell everything like he would on a typical sunny day. -Excuse me dude, hurry up and do your business. It's cold out and unlike you I don't want to be soaking wet!

I was so happy when I accidentally found a collar for Lucky that matched my umbrella exactly! To my utter shock it was clearanced out for $1 in the bins near the register at Petco! Umm... score! I did end up paying $14.99 for a matching leash though but my lil man has to be stylin'.

This outfit is pretty much a collection of all my current faves. My trench coat by Tart Collections is super comfy and since it is water-resistant it is perfect for rainy days. I love to wear scarves with it because I like the look and it makes me feel extra cozy. My black pants fit like jeggings and I wear them almost weekly. My newest favorite shoes are my black booties that I bought on vacation from the H&M in New Orleans. I love the gold hardware and I can comfortably wear them all day long.

Grey Trench Coat- Tart Collections
Black Perfect Fit Pants- I'm Haute

Our New Orleans Getaway

My hubby took me to my first Clippers basketball game when we started dating about five years ago. I was instantly hooked and have been following and learning more about the sport ever since. We go to as many games as possible and we were both dying to go to the NBA All-Star 2014 weekend in New Orleans. Luckily a family member was able to pull a few strings with a friend of his and snag us some sold-out tickets. I literally was jumping for joy! We booked what seemed to be the last available ticket to New Orleans, packed our bags and had an amazing little getaway together. I hope you guys enjoy some of our personal photos around the city.

I am quite possibly the worst ever at packing for trips! I always have this romantic notion in my mind that I am going to dress up every single day of my vacation and then my feet are killing me half way through or I am freezing because I didn't anticipate how cold 63 degrees feels like with a wind chill factor. Luckily, New Orleans was very hospitable with the weather and located on almost every block you will find an Asian foot massage spa. We pampered our feet to the fairly priced massage twice during our short trip and I was able to wear heels everyday without crying. So even though my team lost in the All-Star Game I felt like a winner.

The above outfit is a casual chic baseball sleeve midi-dress that I found on sale at Forever 21. It is featured in my latest Mall Haul video here. I warmed it up with my favorite fuzzy infinity scarf that I've had for years. The scarf doubled as a wrap for when I was chilly from the blasting A/C in the New Orleans Arena. My shoes are from Go Jane and my bag is Christian Louboutin.

For the actual NBA All-Star game I wore this sexy two-piece set from I'm Haute. These bare midriff outfit sets are a celeb favorite lately and I must admit that I'm rather obsessed with them! They are a killer combo of sophistication meets sexy. Since we were planning on going out to dinner after the game I naturally wanted to be all dolled up and I couldn't wait to wear this sassy little number! I paired it with my nude ankle strap high heels from Go Jane and my black and nude jacket from She Inside.

Earlier that afternoon we did some walking around in the French Quarter. We came across the Adidas pop up social media spot aka #adidasintheQuarter. Sports retailers had pop up shops all over town to capitalize on all the fans in town for the NBA All-Star weekend but this was different. This location wasn't actually selling anything. Instead they were offering a free experience in hopes of generating a social media buzz. The setup was rather impressive. They had a DJ spinning the top hip-hop jams, Adidas All-Star Jerseys to borrow, a huge mesmerizing light wall which would display your team of choice and a photographer snapping away free pics to be emailed to you almost instantaneously. Overall the experience probably took five to ten minutes out of our day and we have some pretty cool pictures to show from it. Thanks Adidas!

After our impromptu Adidas photo shoot we decided to reward ourselves with a piece of heaven from the famous Cafe Du Monde. Listen to me when I say, Cafe Du Monde is a must for anyone visiting New Orleans. They opened in 1862 and have been going strong for 24 hours a day ever since. You'll only find them closed for the occasional hurricane or on Christmas Day. Cafe Du Monde has a very limited menu but don't be alarmed. They know what they are good at and they have perfected it.

The only food on the menu: Beignets.
Beignets are described as French doughnuts but I would describe them as a doughnut and funnel cake falling madly in love and having a perfectly fluffy, yet ever so slightly crunchy, melt in your mouth love child. These pillowy pastries of perfection are fried and then covered (and I do mean covered) in powdered sugar. My mouth is seriously watering just thinking about these special treats.

My outfit for walking around during the day in New Orleans was pretty casual. I wore a loose fit plain white T-shirt with my shredded Machine Jeans. I rolled up the bottoms of my jeans to showcase my blue suede Dolce Vita booties that match my indigo blue Celine Mini Luggage Bag. I finished my look off with some circle sunnies and a long necklace from I'm Haute.

Unbeknownst to us, the first parade of Mardi Gras was the day we arrived in New Orleans. The town was covered in colorful decorations and beads were everywhere you looked. Seriously, beads were stuck in trees, hanging from balconies and all over the streets. I was super excited because going to Mardi Gras was on my bucket list. Even though this was New Orleans' smallest Mardi Gras parade I am happy to check that off my list. I'm not sure if I could handle a busier Mardi Gras celebration because this one seemed insane enough to me. We tried walking down Bourbon St which was a completely over crowded mess. Literally everyone was pushing into everyone and it took a good ten minutes just to walk a block. I'm glad I can say that I've been there, done that but I doubt I'll ever intentionally plan a trip to New Orleans just for Mardi Gras.

New Orleans has so much more to offer than just the craziness of Mardi Gras. Besides all of the stunning architecture and mind blowing history, the city is bursting with culinary adventures. Every single meal that we ate was mouth watering delicious and memorable. The above picture is from our belated Valentine's dinner at Restaurant R'evolution. When my hubby and I travel we like to enjoy at least one nice dinner together and Restaurant R'evelotion surely delivered. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and I found a new favorite wine: Domaine Bertagna, Pinot Noir, 2010. The coolest part of dinner here is the complimentary dessert that is served in an ornate jewelry box. Each drawer of the box contains a different chocolate or cookie. So cute!

For casual dinning I recommend The Ruby Slipper Cafe. We popped in here for brunch and my taste buds with never be the same. I can't stop thinking about their Eggs Blackstone dish which is like a southern take on Eggs Benedict. My favorite spot for lunch was Meals from the Heart Cafe which is located in the adorable French Market. Their menu features organic, gluten-free and vegan options. I ordered the okra gumbo and raw beets salad. With every bite I could taste the love.

Travelling is my number one passion in life. I always come back from my trips feeling blessed and excited from the new things I just experienced. To me, life is all about the experience.

My Latest Fall Fashion Obsession

The monochrome trend has been huge in fashion this year and is still a must have for Fall/Winter 2013. Black and white seem to be the must have colors for the season. Wear them solo for a chic tonal look or combine these classic hues for high-contrast drama with a timeless undertone. For even more drama I like to pair my black and white outfits with red accessories. Black and white ensembles work well with pretty much any colored accessory you could think of. Red is my favorite accent to black and white clothing because it is so vibrant and instantly adds a touch of sexy edge that still feels sophisticated. Below you will find some of my favorites fashion picks for creating a similar black, white and red outfit.

Black and White Leggings

As I'm sure you already know, leggings are a wardrobe staple year-round and especially during fall and winter. I could practically live in leggings when it is cold outside because there is just something about cold weather that makes me want be in my pajamas all day... leggings are the next best option and way more fashionable. When it is extra chilly outside I will layer my leggings for extra warmth. I own a couple pairs of fleece lined leggings and they feel so amazing against my skin in the wintertime. Leggings can also help make your legs appear longer and leaner since they sit so close to the skin... for added effect put away those knee-high boots and reach for ankle-booties instead.

Miss New Bootie

1. Christian Louboutin Daf Bootie,  2. Kristin Cavallari Lavish Bootie,  3. Saint Laurent Bootie,
4. Valentino Rain Boot,  5. Diane Von Furstenberg Zip-Trim Bootie,  6. Shoe Cult Impact Bootie.

Boots are everywhere in the fall and winter months... but red booties... red booties are only for the true fashionistas and fashion risk-takers of this world. You know what they say, "No risk, no reward." So go for it! Red booties are a statement shoe that you wont soon forget or regret. You can wear them with your monochomatic outifts and other neutrals like nudes and leopard print. Yes, leopard print is considered a neutral color these days and happens to be one of my faves! The perfect red bootie will also be your fave come holiday season! Add some festive color to your LBD or dress up jeans and a sweater for family time.

Red Alert: Handbags

Red handbags are eye catching and totally sexy! Carry your stuff in style this season with one of the above bags. These beautiful red handbags are on trend with their luxurious and animal friendly fabrics of faux snakeskin and quilted vegan leather. It is really hard to choose a favorite.

Top it Off!

Quite possibly the easiest option for a statement accessory is a bold red bauble! Red accessories require little commitment and usually offer lower price points than say a pair of shoes or a handbag. If you're a little nervous about trying bright red heels or a vibrant red purse then ease into this brilliant color with a red necklace, single toned clothing (think all white or all black, etc) and matching red nail polish.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

Purple Chiffon Blouse and Leopard Print Blazer

and pink hair, oh my!

When I first dyed my hair pink I felt rather limited by my wardrobe. I was afraid that color would clash with my bright pink locks so I stuck with all black outfits for the first few days. That didn't last very long! I love color, hence my colorful hair, so I've recently been experimenting with some different hues. I've found that I like how purples and blues look with my hair... and leopard print is the new black so that's always a safe "color". Haha.

My purple chiffon blouse came in the mail from Le Tote on Tuesday. I've been thinking about what to wear it with since I received it. Just my luck, this beautiful blouse didn't look good with any of the options I was pairing it with in my head and now my bed is totally covered with clean discarded clothes. Tell me you do this too? My white skinny pants had just been washed so they were in a separate "to be hung up" pile on my bed, I slipped them on and then everything else fell into place. I love when that happens! If only it had happened sooner, I'd have less clothes to hang up later tonight... err tomorrow... ok, ok, Saturday! *don't judge me* To save yourself the mess, a good tip to remember when you're trying to make outfits from separates is that opposites attract. For the most part, you want to pair loose bottoms with tight tops and tight bottoms with loose tops.

My Rose Indien Mini Alma Bag doesn't match with much so I was super stoked when I saw the color of this Le Tote chiffon blouse! I swear the lighting in the Louis Vuitton store was deceiving because I remember my purse being more pink than purple. I guess Rose Indien just looks different under various types of lights because sometimes my purse even appears to be a deep red which it most certainly is not. It is a bit of a chameleon purse.

I have literally owned these leopard print heels for seven years! Leopard print never really goes out of style so I've held onto them and wear them at least a handful of times each year. They are a great and edgy alternative for nude heels and pair nicely with so many different outfits.
